Our Mechanical Services team is currently seeking a Trainee BIM Technician. The position is suited to an entry level candidate with desire to learn about mechanical and digital design. This is an exciting career opportunity to be part of an organisation that is embracing Digital Engineering and working smarter with the latest BIM/DE tools and technology.

As a Trainee Mechanical BIM Technician, you will support the success of ACOR, both locally and on a national level. The right candidate will require a foundation of digital design or CAD drafting with an interest in developing their knowledge of building services

The opportunity:

  • Technical design and documentation of mechanical services utilizing Autodesk Revit as primary package to relevant design codes and standards.
  • Coordination with clients, engineers, designers, and BIM authors in relation to mechanical services (and multidisciplinary) projects.
  • Review and understand project BIM requirements
  • Review design documentation, model data and coordination conflicts (clash detection).
  • Authoring and implementation of project BIM Management Plans.
  • Technical guidance, input and implementation of ACOR’s Digital Engineering and BIM practices.
  • Review and validate BIM models.
  • Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution.

 Required skills and Experience:

  • Cert IV or Diploma in a relevant discipline (mechanical engineering, residential drafting, building design etc)
  • A willingness to learn and develop skills with an interest in digital design
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
