Our building services team in Melbourne/ Sydney is currently seeking a Senior Electrical BIM Designer. The position is suited to an experienced candidate with a proven history of BIM project delivery. This is an exciting career opportunity to be part of an organisation that is embracing Digital Engineering and working smarter with the latest BIM tools and technology.

As part of this role, you will assist with providing drafting design input and technical support in the production of engineering drawings and documentation for small to large scale projects.

Duties

  • Produce detailed electrical building services documentation to a high level.
  • Set up and manage projects throughout the life of the project.
  • Undertake the role of lead REVIT co-ordinator for small to large projects. This will involve managing all aspects of the project including but not limited to, liaising with the Architect, setting up ACOR models and sheets, managing/updating files on BIM360, disseminating information to the ACOR modelling team, undertaking clash detection and co-ordination, document control, etc.
  • Review and audit BIM models.
  • Assisting the Electrical design team with design appropriate. This may include NCC calculations, lighting layouts, schematics etc.
  • Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution.
  • Assist with mentoring junior staff.

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in BIM project delivery and associated design and collaboration tools, including but not limited to Revit, Autocad, BIM360 etc
  • Experience in managing a project, including managing the modelling team and external parties.
  • Experience with Revit family editing, advanced modelling skills, understanding of BIM Workflows and project setup.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • A relevant technical qualification in electrical design would be an advantage
  • As Acor undertakes a variety of government projects, Australian citizenship would be an advantage.
