As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved with and responsible for the design and delivery of key projects across various industries, including health, commercial, industrial and defence and will be able to demonstrate proven engineering leadership.

The position offers an excellent opportunity for career advancement, with the ideal candidate helping to establish, grow and lead the mechanical team within the Perth office. You will be supported by the existing building services team in the Perth office and existing mechanical team based in our interstate offices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the provision of mechanical services within Perth and supporting the ACOR Group on a national basis.
  • Production of project documentation to an end client standard including but not limited to drawings, reports, specifications, project advice notices and the like for small, medium and large projects.
  • Manage / support mechanical projects or sub-projects to achieve mechanical deliverables.
  • Support mechanical projects or sub-projects to assist Project Directors / Project Leaders.
  • Applying professional judgement progressively to more difficult tasks.
  • Provide mentoring and training for junior staff.
  • Managing drafting staff and BIM designers on a project basis.
  • Assure that project milestones and deadlines are met. Tracking, time and budget to invoicing and cash flow are appropriately managed.
  • Project leading multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Undertaking professional development training, development and experience using a variety of standard engineering methods and procedures.
  • Preparation of fee submissions for key clients and managing client relationships.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including client and project prospecting and pursuits, procurement and client relationships
  • Contributing to business planning and strategic direction activities
  • Contribute to standards, templates and similar documents used to communicate mechanical requirements, deliverables and the like.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in Mechanical Engineering within a building services engineering consultancy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Member of Engineer’s Australia and Chartered Professional Engineer (or on path to achieving)..
  • A strong working knowledge with a range of relevant design software packages
  • Experience in designing mechanical services in multiple sectors which may include Defence, Commercial, Industrial, Health and the like.
  • Thorough understanding of NCC (National Construction Code) and relevant Australian Standards.
  • A good level of report writing and communication skills.
