As the Mechanical Team Leader, you will lead a team of professionals within the mechanical service line across the NSW region, reporting directly to the Mechanical Service Line Leader. You will oversee the design and delivery of projects across industries including health, commercial office, education, industrial, and defence, demonstrating proven engineering leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, while providing strategic support to the national ACOR team 
  • Deliver key projects by overseeing design, documentation, and client communication
  • Develop and implement plans for team resourcing, staff training, and succession planning
  • Undertake business development activities and contribute to bid preparation
  • Drive technical and consulting capability to meet short and long-term business needs
  • Manage project milestones, budgets, and cashflows, ensuring quality deliverables
  • Provide mentoring and training for the mechanical team to foster professional growth
  • Contribute to standards and templates for communicating mechanical requirements
  • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects and align service line capacity to forecasted workloads

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience leading a Mechanical Engineering team within a building services consultancy
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Chartered Professional Engineer and Member of Engineers Australia
  • Proven experience in leading medium to large-scale projects
  • Expertise in mechanical services design across sectors like Defence, Health, Education, and Industrial
  • Strong understanding of NCC (National Construction Code) and Australian Standards
  • Proficiency with design software such as CAMEL, MS Office, and Bluebeam
