GP Locum

Experienced GP locum required to cover leave at this traditional small group rural practice. Providing GP sessions only in a well established practice. You can use your free time to explore the countryside, cycle, enjoy bush walking tracks and local wineries. The locum GP will be well supported with an induction and orientation that will ensure a smooth transition to the practice and to the friendly and welcoming community.

PRACTICE DETAILS:

The practice is located on the Yackandandah Health site within a beautiful garden. It is a computerised teaching practice with two consulting rooms and a treatment room where services such as ECGs, immunisations, minor surgery and fracture repairs are performed. Joining 3 other part time doctor, you will be supported by a practice nurse and a small administration team. The main patient health issues that impact on the practice are typical for a rural community with an emphasis on age related problems.

Yackandandah Health has a modern aged care facility with 67 residential aged care places, including respite accommodation. The RAC facility is fully accredited and rated as the premier facility in the Shire.

Yackandandah Health is a community owned, public benevolent, not for profit organisation where good old-fashioned country values and standards are paramount. The practice supports the Health Service and aged care residents. The Health Service is presently undertaking a redevelopment which when completed will see a number of community services offered from the site. Major regional hospitals in the nearby large regional centres of Wangaratta and Albury – Wodonga provide quality care and support to communities in the area.
