About the Role
Our Civil Construction department offers Diploma and Advanced Diploma as vocational courses across our campuses in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. There is a vacancy in our department in Perth campus for a part-time/ full-time trainer and assessor in civil construction programs (VET courses) to carry out training and assessment duties
You will be responsible for the development, improvement, and delivery of civil construction units (for both Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs), ensuring that these meet the VET Quality and the Higher Education Standards Frameworks.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver High-Quality Training: Provide engaging and effective instruction based on curriculum requirements and ensure high standards of teaching.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Record student attendance and progress accurately, following College policies and procedures.
- Ensure Effective Learning: Monitor classroom learning outcomes, provide feedback, and support students’ educational development.
- Professional Development: Stay current with industry standards and maintain up-to-date qualifications, actively participating in professional development opportunities.
- Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to the Code of Conduct, report incidents, manage OH&S matters, and contribute to meetings and other relevant activities.
About You
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Bachelor in the civil/construction field as a minimum qualification
- 2 years experience in the civil construction industry
- Understanding and supportive of students’ diverse needs and learning paces
- Experience working with international students in the delivery and assessment of vocational education and training
- Proficient in the use of learning management systems (Moodle) and Microsoft Office applications
- Possession of or willingness to obtain a WWCC (with costs reimbursed)
