About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality simulation-based education within our Nursing Program. This position is instrumental in preparing, maintaining, and ensuring the effective operation of the Clinical Simulation Lab, thereby enhancing the learning experience for students and academic staff, and contributing to their success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare laboratory equipment, supplies, and materials for practical sessions (setting up simulation manikins, IV setups, medication administration stations, and other tools).
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain an organised laboratory environment (proper disposal of biohazardous materials, sterilization of equipment, and adherence to infection control procedures) 
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and safety; Report any malfunctions for repair or replacement. 
  • Assist with debriefing sessions following simulation activities, facilitating discussions among participants and reinforce learning objectives in a safe and constructive learning environment
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and standards for simulation-based education; Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness
  • Provide training and technical support to faculty, staff, and students on the use of simulation equipment and technology
  • Maintain accurate records of simulation activities, including scenario development, participant performance, and equipment maintenance; Generate reports for program evaluation and accreditation purposes 

About You

  • Previous experience working in a clinical simulation lab or healthcare education setting 
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with simulation equipment, audiovisual systems, and computer software 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students 
  • Knowledge of simulation-based learning principles, instructional design, and debriefing techniques 
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment 
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of the job 
  • Formal education or training in nursing, healthcare, or a related field including laboratory vocational education and training qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience in educational technology or instructional design (desirable)
