Position Overview:
Responsible for the development and strategic planning of specific marketing plans and activities for particular product(s), project(s), or product line(s) to establish, enhance, or distinguish placement within the competitive arena. Activities may include tactics, tools, logistics, campaigns, basic messaging, and positioning. The role also involves developing business plans and product positioning in the marketplace, overseeing market research, monitoring competitive activity, and identifying customer needs. Additionally, the position requires establishing pricing strategies and leading cross-functional teams/groups with minimal supervision to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). The role includes coaching others on specific products and/or projects and ensuring compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design strategies to maximize the profitability of product lines by collaborating with assigned staff, conducting market research, and performing financial analyses.
- Contribute to the development of an annual departmental budget by forecasting future needs, utilizing the previous year's budget, current objectives, and budget guidelines.
- Propose the allocation of resources to manage product life cycles from concept through retirement by assessing needs and objectives.
- Ensure projects align with product line strategy and that messaging is effectively conveyed.
- Provide guidance to others within the Marketing department on the development of projects and/or programs.
- Customer Engagement: Represent the company by visiting accounts to solicit feedback on company products and services.
- Understand project timelines and present recommendations based on risk analysis when projects deviate from their course.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of AV business, product lines, market space, and the company's business units.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree, plus 5-8 years of related work experience with a comprehensive understanding of the specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. An MBA is strongly preferred.
