Job Title: Market Insights Manager

Location: North Chicago, Illinois

Duration: 5 Month (Approx. 30 Hours/Week)

Work Type: Position is onsite at Abbott Park IL for 3 out 4 days. (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote)

Market Insights Manager (Primary Market Research) Abbott Nutrition International

The Opportunity Representing the voice of the consumer and healthcare provider, guide data/research-based business decisions that enable Abbott Nutrition International to maximize revenue, brand share, and profitability during a 6-month maternity leave period.

What You’ll Work On As the key insights partner on a Global Marketing team, understand business opportunities and challenges, define research and analysis needs, lead primary research initiatives, and share insights and recommendations to help drive business actions. This position reports to Sr. Manager, ANI Market Insights. 

Strategic Consultancy:

  • Develop an intimate understanding of the consumers and healthcare providers (HCPs) in the key countries, business, and relevant brands you support, including positioning, financials, and brand health performance.
  • Consistently represent the voice of the consumer/HCP among internal partners to ensure that the consumer/HCP is always top-of-mind.

Learning Plan and Insights Management:

  • Understand business questions and anticipated marketing actions to ensure research results are actionable.
  • Collaborate with business teams to identify knowledge gaps and develop the Learning Plan. Design specific research initiatives and manage them end-to-end.
  • Mine existing information from past research, as well as secondary sources. Collaborate with analytics partners as needed, to deliver synthesized, integrated insights.
  • Identify research vendors, methodologies, and data sources that are appropriate to address the business questions(s), and proactively discuss the design of research with business partners and vendors to enhance strategic value.
  • Negotiate and partner with research suppliers to deliver learning efficiently and effectively. Challenge research suppliers as appropriate and evolve the overall research program.
  • Guide business teams and evaluate research stimulus to ensure objectivity and testability.
  • Manage ANI Global MI team’s Insights knowledge management catalogue/portal.

Engagement with Internal Partners and Leadership:

  • Dedicate an appropriate amount of time to truly understand the business questions, and challenge where appropriate, to properly scope out research and analyses.
  • Practice a sense of urgency. Establish timely and realistic deadlines with business partners and work to meet those deadlines. Proactively manage expectations.
  • Ensure complete objectivity and superior standards of reporting and insights storytelling to all levels of management.

Skills:

  • Expertise in custom research methods, both quantitative and qualitative. Experience with Behavioral Science research design a plus.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills including insights results storytelling and strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Psychology, or related field required; a Master’s in Marketing Research or Psychology, or an MBA, is preferred.
  • 7+ years’ experience of managing end-to-end primary market research studies.
  • Required client-side market research experience in the CPG industry, with Healthcare industry experience a plus and international experience a plus. 
  • Experience in innovation, qual and quant concept testing, BASES methods, and forecasting research preferred.
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint. Online research platforms survey programming experience a plus (i.e., Qualtrics). SPSS/other statistical software is a plus.
  • Must be willing to occasionally participate in evening or early morning calls and Qualitative research sessions, due to this being a global role with stakeholders in multiple time zones.
