Role Purpose
Step into the dynamic world of cyber defence as our SOC Product Manager. You’ll own the vision and execution of innovative products that power our Security Operations Centre, ensuring our threat detection, incident response, and reporting solutions are ahead of the curve. Working at the intersection of technology, security, and customer experience, you'll drive the full product lifecycle—from ideation and development to launch and continuous optimisation—while collaborating with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to seamlessly integrate our SOC offerings into customers’ security ecosystems.
Key Accountabilities
At AARNet, all employees are accountable for:
- Actively promoting safe work practices in the workplace during all activities consistent with AARNet’s policies and comply with all WH&S legislation, policies and procedures.
- Actively contributes to a safe and supportive working environment that is inclusive of all staff through celebrating their nationality, cultural background, LGBTI status, abilities, gender and age.
In this role, your main responsibilities are:
- Define & Drive: Craft a compelling product vision and roadmap that aligns with AARNet’s strategic objectives and the evolving needs of our SOC teams. Own the end-to-end lifecycle of our SOC products, from initial concept to ongoing enhancements.
- Integrate & Innovate: Clearly articulate how our SOC capabilities integrate with existing cyber security stacks. Work closely with developers, security analysts, and business teams to design and deliver high-impact solutions—ranging from advanced threat dashboards to real-time incident reporting tools—that transform complex security data into actionable insights.
- Collaborate & Lead: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, to gather and prioritise service requirements, feature requests, and pain points. Lead cross-functional Agile teams through sprint prioritisation, backlog refinement, and reviews to ensure smooth, timely delivery of SOC product initiatives.
- Measure & Optimize: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product success and inform data-driven decision making. Prepare robust business cases and roadmaps that showcase the value and potential of new product enhancements.
- Support & Evolve: Provide pre- and post-sales support—delivering engaging product demos, clear documentation, and hands-on assistance—to guarantee our SOC solutions not only meet but exceed customer expectations. Continuously refine our product management frameworks to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
